Wow! This summer is going way to fast. (I know, I say that every year.) But I am beginning to get anxious for the school year to start and am so excited about working with my wonderful group of actors and singers for 2010-2011!
I have another fun, busy year planned for us. There will be no Madrigal Feaste this year, but we will be having a more traditional Winter Concert on Thursday, December 2. I think it's time to take a year off from the medieval mindset, so this year we can do more contemporary music and some novelty numbers. If you have a favorite tune you'd like to sing, please let me know!
Since we're not doing the Feaste, we will have time to produce a full-length play. I have chosen "Little Women," based on the book by Louisa May Alcott. It will be performed the first weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun) of November. Of course there are lots of female roles, but not too many male roles (sorry guys), but there will be plenty of male roles available in the spring musical.
Speaking of the spring musical, I am still finalizing those plans, so more on that later.
