Homecoming Performance 2014

Next Friday, October 10, the Middle and High School Choirs will be singing with the band at homecoming.  Here's the scoop:

  • We will be singing "The Star Spangled Banner" (in unison) and Unioto's Alma Mater (3 parts).
  • I will be out of town at a wedding that day, so Mrs. Janet McMahon will be conducting.
  • Students must meet in the Junior High Cafeteria at 6 pm sharp. They should first sign in and then have a seat.
  • Shortly after 6 pm, Show Choir students will have all students line up from tallest to shortest and then form 3-4 lines for performance.
  • Mrs. McMahon will warm up the voices and then go through the music with the group.
  • At about 6:40 pm, the group will file IN ORDER outside and line up behind the marching band and wait to go to the stadium.
  • Students are expected to be quiet and respectful during the march to the stadium. NO TALKING!
  • Once in the stadium, students will stay in line and stand on the home side of the track against the fence until time to sing.
  • After the homecoming queen is announced, you will see Mr. Condo start to get in place for the national anthem.  At that time, the choirs will file over in front of the bleachers next to the 50 yard line (at Mr. Condo's back) and get ready to sing.
  • Mrs. McMahon will follow Mr. Condo's cues as the choir sings.
  • Once students are finished, they will file off the field/track in an orderly fashion. Students may stay for the game or leave at that time.
A few more things:
  • Students need to sign in upon arriving at the Cafeteria or they may not get credit for singing.
  • This is a MANDATORY performance for choral students.
  • Choral students get into the game for free; however, friends and family of choral students must pay the entrance fee to the game; NO EXCEPTIONS. Students who are reported to have tried to "sneak in" friends or family will be reprimanded (detention and points off his/her grade).
If students need to practice, here are the listening/practice tracks:
