Alice@ Wonderland Auditions Coming Soon!

Our spring musical this year is "Alice@Wonderland," based on Lewis Carroll's much-loved stories.  The updated story features a texting, tweeting, rapping Alice who falls down the rabbit hole to meet the Wonderland characters we know and love:  the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, March Hare, Dormouse, Caterpillar, Tweedledee and Tweedledum and more!  This show has great music in the styles of rap, hip hop, soul, rock, musical theatre and bluegrass, and we are going to have so much fun with this show.  The performance dates are Saturday and Sunday, March 27 and 28, 2015, and Sunday, March 29 at 3 pm.

Download audition and casting information here!

This is a High School production, but Middle School students are encouraged to audition and sing in the chorus. Leads will be filled by High School students, but there are so many parts, Middle School students have a good opportunity to be cast, too. If you are already a choral student and want to be in the chorus, you don't have to audition -- just let Ms. Snyder know.

A number of great parts are available for singers and actors -- including several parts that require no solo singing. Auditions are as follows:
  • SINGING AUDITIONS:  Monday, December 15 from 4 pm to 6 pm.  You must sing a specific song from the show. See the audition information packette for more information. Sign up for a 5-minute time slot on the High School Choir Room door beginning December 1, 2014.
  • ACTING AUDITIONS:  Tuesday, December 16 from 3 pm to 5 pm.  You must stay the whole time and read from the script with other students.  You can check out a script from Ms. Snyder; scripts must be turned back in to Ms. Snyder at the auditions on December 16. Students who do not return scripts will be charged $10 to replace it.

Rehearsals will be scheduled based on students' availability.  Note that the rehearsal schedule for this show is very intense -- you can view a sample schedule here.  Changes will be made based on the cast's availability prior to the start of rehearsals on January 5, 2015. Note that with the exception of Alice, students will not have to be at every rehearsal most weeks.

If you want help learning your music, you may want to attend one of the AUDITION WORKSHOPS on Monday, December 1 from 3-5 pm or Tuesday, December 2 from 5-7 pm.  Ms. Snyder will teach you the audition songs and talk about what she is looking for in the auditions. You do not have to attend a workshop to audition -- workshop attendance is optional.

Students who would like to have a practice CD of the music need to bring $1 to Ms. Snyder to cover the cost.  CDs will be available starting December 1.

If you have questions, please email Ms. Snyder at tsnyder@unioto.net or via facebook.
